External Tax Data

External tax data comes from various sources and includes sales, property, utility and business tax receipts. This tax data is cumbersome and difficult to manage because it comes in a variety of file formats and database exports.

TaxTools is a single application which provides a complete tax administration system for all city tax sources. All taxes paid by an individual taxpayer are linked together and become available for auditing and reporting features.

Comprehensive tax discovery auditing features allow you to maximize your tax collections. Look for missing returns in a tax revenue stream or cross match tax receipts with business licenses, yellow page listings or utility records to find taxpayers who are not reporting correctly.

[-] Revenue Forecasting

Two independent methods are available to forecast any revenue stream. One method applies prior year collection patterns to the current year receipts. The more comprehensive method uses linear projections at the SIC code or individual taxpayer level to forecast future year receipts.

[-] Management Reports

Crystal Reports is used to create over 20 management reports and many graphs that allow you to monitor trends and pinpoint changes from period to period. These can be used on any tax database in TaxTools.

[-] Data Analysis

Special data management capabilities help you use tax data in creative ways. Monitor annexation area taxes, connect tax data to your GIS system, update your base systems with taxpayer account links, and export virtually any subset of tax data to other business software for custom analysis.

Five predefined and two user definable data exports are available in TaxTools. Data may be selected and previewed and then exported into most common formats including Excel, Access and delimited text. User defined export specifications may be saved for later use.

Tax & License is an add-on module to TaxTools that provides integrated licensing and B&O tax capabilities including the following features:

		Supports multiple license types, endorsements and permits			Batch entry of cash receipts

		Autofill of account information from related databases speeds data entry			Automatic late penalty calculation

		Business transactions keep track of all account activity			Balance due notices

		Customizable automatic approval process for new applications			Supports B&O tax processing including generation of tax returns

		License renewals calculate amount due at current rates and provide for updating account information			All analysis, exporting and forecasting tools work with tax and license data
