1. How much does TaxTools cost?
 
TaxTools pricing is based on the modules ordered and, in some cases, the amount of taxes which will be maintained in the system. The basic analysis version license fee is starting at $5,000 and includes one day of training and support services for one year. After the first year, support services are 15% of the current license fee for the software used. You may contact us for a quotation based on your requirements.
 
   
 
2. How can I evaluate TaxTools?

3. How can I use TaxTools with my existing tax administration software?
 
TaxTools is designed to allow easy import of taxpayer account and return data from most data formats. You export a file of taxpayer account and return data and import it into TaxTools using our data map technology and predefined import procedures.
 
   
 
4. What support services does Microflex provide for TaxTools?
 
User support is very important to us. Your support services fee includes toll free telephone support and continuous improvements to the software. We provide at least annual maintenance software releases and timely bug fixes.

Included with the original software license is one day of staff training. This can be done at our offices or yours. Travel to your offices is at extra cost. We also have an annual user group meeting to get feedback from our users and highlight our plans for the future.
 
   
 
5. How long does it take to install TaxTools in my office?
 
One day or less, including training of your staff.
 
   
 
6. Does Microflex provide training on using TaxTools?
 
Yes, Microflex provides free training for your staff during the installation of TaxTools at your office. Furthermore, a comprehensive help file is available within TaxTools. In the future, basic tutorials will be available on our web site.

Answers to Technical Questions:
 
 
1. How is tax data entered into TaxTools?
 
Tax return data is periodically imported into TaxTools using generalized import procedures. A pre-conversion program may be needed to read tax data from some jurisdictions such as your State.

For example, a user may include state sales tax return data and B&O tax return data from its own internal systems. Sometimes, a report writer can be used to create the necessary interface files. Microflex has pre-conversion programs for selected state tax file formats and for several accounting software vendors which provide business B&O systems. Alternatively, Microflex will provide the necessary interface software for an additional fee if the specifications of the source data are provided.
   
 
2. Does TaxTools require historical tax data?
 
Certain features of TaxTools require 24 months of tax return history to make all management reports fully functional. If you begin using TaxTools today, it will take a couple of years to collect enough tax return data to fully utilize TaxTools. It is often possible to receive historical tax data so history can be built. Microflex will convert historical data and, if you desire, will preload your TaxTools system with this historical data for a nominal fee.
 
   
 
3. Is any special software required to run TaxTools?
 
No other special software is required.
 
   
 
4. Are there any special installation considerations for TaxTools?
 
No. TaxTools is a multi-user application which can be run on one or more workstations on a PC network. It has successfully run on many networks including Novell and Microsoft networks.
   
 
5. What data formats can TaxTools use?
 
Data must provided in one of these formats: Text, Access, Excel, Paradox or Dbase, readable in a PC environment.
 
   
 
6. What computer hardware is needed to run TaxTools?
 
The TaxTools system is designed to operate on an IBM compatible computer running Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 or XP.  Disk storage requirements depend on the number of tax returns maintained on file.
